Hi, I'm Teacher Kim!

Water has always been my happy place, from fishing with my dad to boating with my own family. My heart for teaching grew while homeschooling my son and welcoming twelve foster children into our home. Today, I am a proud grandma, and my mission is to share the safety and joy of the water with your family.

Since becoming a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard in 2017, and NOW a certified Infant Aquatics Instructor and a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) I have dedicated myself to making sure every swimmer feels safe and loved in and around water.

At Ruffles Swim School, I welcome everyone! I have a special place in my heart for swimmers with unique needs, including those with Autism, ADHD, or the fear of water from the past.

Whether you are looking for lessons for your baby, your teenager, or even yourself, I am here to guide you with patience and care. I treat every student like family, helping them grow from hesitant beginners into confident, happy swimmers.

To give my students the best:

Because parents started to ask, I traveled to Colorado to master the Infant Aquatics method. This special training focuses on the 'Swim-Float-Swim' technique, which is a life-saving skill that helps children not only swim but also roll onto their backs to rest and breathe.

It is amazing how quickly tiny babies can learn these survival skills! I have spent over 100 hours working hands on with children as young as six months old to ensure they are safe and capable in the water.

My goal is simple:

I want every child to have the skills they need to 1st stay safe in and around water and THEN have fun! Drowning is a scary thought, but with the right training kids can learn the skills to give them the gift of safety and confidence.
